Learning Violin and Viola is Fun!

Elisa Rega teaches music lessons based on wholistic approaches from Educational Psychology.

I love to teach and have devoted my life to obtaining the highest music education possible. Learning to play an instrument is fun but it is also challenging. My lessons consist of technique and general music training that include aural skills, singing, rhythmic internalization, and music theory. My lessons are a lot of fun because I have high standards, but also maintain a light hearted atmosphere. In addition to music, I am also a psychology researcher and have studied and published articles on the latest experimental education practices. So my lessons tend to be very different from a typical music lesson. I teach violin and viola from beginning to advanced levels. My students have ranged in age from 3 to 65 years old and I feel that I can teach students at any age or level.

Go on and obtain your musical dreams.

BRAVO YOUTH ORCHESTRAS

El Sistema is A Global Music Revolution
“Music saved my life and has saved the lives of thousands of at-risk children in Venezuela.  Like food, like health care, like education, music has to be a right for every citizen.” – Gustavo Dudamel, conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic

El Sistema is Venezuela’s national system of youth orchestras that was established in 1975 by José Antonio Abreu. Every year more than 500,000 children, 80% of whom live in poverty, are given intensive music education free of cost.

El Sistema-inspired programs are now operating in more than 50 countries around the world, and there are nearly 100 affiliated programs in the United States. BRAVO is the first in Oregon. Studies have shown that participation in El Sistema programs improves children’s outcomes in school attendance, academic performance, and even general health and wellbeing. Venezuela’s flagship program has positively impacted the lives of over 2 million children.
